Work story

I'm back in the surveillance room all alone (as always) working on the novel when my security guy comes on the radio and asks who his surveillance person is. I told him he had three guesses and the first two didn't count. (It's a Ro thing) He came back on and said, "cool, I have Grissom in surveillance." That started a CSI conversation that led into movies and then died out because they needed him in the pit to help with verifications and the like because we were fairly busy.
So I called the cage to tell Megan, who is also a CSI fan, about the conversation. She said that she wouldn't want to have Grissom back in surveillance. My mind went straight into the gutter and I told her that she said it and I thunk it. (Another Ro thing). The best part here is that she didn't get the joke. So I had to explain to her that when Ro or I said you said it and I thunk it, someone said something that made our minds go in the gutter and think dirty thoughts. She asked me what she had said that made my mind go dirty. I told her it was when she said she wouldn't want to have Grissom in surveillance. Then she got it.
The best part of the whole story though is that I called Ro and left her a voicemail - she was dealing Ultimate Texas Hold 'em at the time - about the whole story. She started laughing so hard when she listened to it (I could see her on one of the monitors) and Ro said I'm a dirty, dirty little girl. I pointed out it was all her fault.

As an author I'm constantly studying and researching for my novels - none published as yet but I'm still shopping them around - so falling back into the routine of school hasn't been too hard.

I'm attempting to work on TDC at the moment, but there's so much to do I have to unravel all the threads before I can start writing. And it doesn't help that I've been creating a new dragon culture in the new book.

*snort* Hell no. I'm in a small college town in north Idaho right on the Washington State border. It's more a card room than casino, per se.

According to Washington State gambling code - the casino is actually in Pullman, not Moscow - for the number of tables we have in play (7 card, 3 poker) we have to have a manned surveillance room. I actually hold the record on catching cheaters too. *grin* I rock, I rock.
Don't you just love it when government does stuff for money? *rolls eyes* I actually don't gamble. I watch enough people throw their money away every day to even be tempted.

That's a good number to be. :) There are days I dislike being out on the west coast like I am, but most of the time I love it.
