Meet Nigel

Nigel has come up in a conversation and I realized that I don't think I've shared a picture of him before. He's our garden dragon that we've had for years, you can tell with how worn he's become. Mum let Remington and me name him and we both thought back to an old TV show called Square 1 and their spoof Mathnet. In it, the detectives were interviewing a British rock band. In the middle of the interview, out of nowhere, one of them says, "I've got a dog named Nigel. And a Nigel named Dog." It stops things for a moment, but they go back to their questioning until the same guy stands up and plays an air guitar rift. The junior detective asks him how he did that, because there was music with no guitar. The guy says, "bloody well I thought. I wrote that. Nigel didn't like it. And neither did Dog."

So here's Nigel.

YAY! Nigel! He's adorable! Look at his short little legs, no wonder he's stuck on the steps, he can't get up them!

Have no fear, Nigel, you'll be rescued as soon as possible!

The name Nigel means Dark in Latin and Champion in Celtic languages, so he's a Dark Champion. Very fitting for a dragon!

Isn't he so cute? He's got some chipping on his back, but it gives him character. Yeah, he can manage the garden okay, but not stairs. The snow is almost gone, I'll probably be able to get him in tomorrow.

I didn't know that. Awesome. It's totally the perfect name for a dragon. :)

Clearly it was fated that you would give him an appropriate name! I was curious so I looked it up.

He wears his battle scars proudly, like all champions!

Brave Sir Nigel is looking forward to a new challenge and new garden pests to battle!

Maybe Nigel should join Torchwood.

I guess so. :)

He's going to have lizards to watch in the new garden. The south is full of them. I bet they'll love him.

Maybe. He could watch for strange reptile activity for them. *grins*

He'd be good at that! I wonder what he eats. Maybe he could oprovide pest control in the lower levels, lol!

I can just see him sitting in a sunny garden with lizards basking on his back. He'll be in heaven!

My guess is weeds and insects given where he's lived for so many years. It's going to be so awesome for him to be in the sun. The snow has all melted off thanks to freezing rain and and warmer temps, so I can go out and grab him in a day or two. Just have to wait for the ice to melt on the stairs.

Yeah, you don't want to slip on the steps, that would be bad! Hopefully it will be gone soon.

Yeah, ice is one of my least favorite things to deal with.

Mine too. I won't go outside if I can avoid it when it's icy. I'm terrified of falling and breaking something.
