thieved from aeoncole
1. Pick 15 of your favorite movies.
2. Go to IMDB and find a quote from each movie.
3. Post them here for everyone to guess.
4. Strike it out when someone guesses correctly, and put who guessed it and the movie.
5. NO GOOGLING/using IMDB search functions. Totally cheating, you dirty cheaters.

1) What did you expect? "Welcome, sonny"? "Make yourself at home"? "Marry my daughter?" You've got to remember that these are just simple farmers. These are people of the land. The common clay of the new West. You know . . . morons.  Steph    Blazing Saddles

2) The ability to speak does not make you intelligent. Now get out of here.

3) Then prove it! Control your emotions! Discipline your mind!    marauder_bex    Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

4) Me? I'm dishonest. And a dishonest man you can always trust to be dishonest. Honestly. It's the honest ones you want to watch out for. Because you can never predict when they're going to do something incredibly... stupid.  twilight_senka   Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl

5) I find everyone's pain amusing, except my own... I'm French!   mehoser2     Flushed Away

6) ...Schh-eduled?

7) I didn't say Abe Lincoln, I said "Hey, Blinkin". Hold the reins, man.     ilh214   Robin Hood Men in Tights

8)I ain't got no body, and nobody cares for me. Yakka tak ta a yakka tak ta ha!   alixsinclair   Young Frankenstein

9) Anybody want a peanut?   Steph and scifirogue_kane     The Princess Bride

10) Cricket? Nobody understands cricket. You gotta know what a crumpet is to understand cricket.   Panthersprite    Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles I

11) Fish are friends, not food.   ilh214  Finding Nemo

12) A lot of guys from Minnesota and Boston.   mehoser2   Miracle

14) Gentlemen, you can't fight in here! This is the war room!

15) And don't apologize! Every time I try to talk to someone, it's "I'm sorry" this, and "forgive me" that, and "I'm not worthy"... [slight pause] What are you doing NOW?!     Steph   Monty Python and the Holy Grail

Mel Brooks rocks.
And the nemo quote is Ro's favorite thing to say whenever I order fish for supper. She hates fish.

Feb. 10th, 2008 11:33 pm (UTC)

Oh yes they butchered the poor thing a fair bit but it was an amazing film. I cried so much at the end.
I have no idea how I'm going to get through the last two.
*clings teary eyed to first ever fandom*

It wasn't mine but I've written there. And need to finish stories too. *grumbles* I'm sooo looking forward to the duel scene at the end of six and I'll be in tears at the end of seven. I love Snape.

I was 11 when I read the first book and they talk about those kids that have grown with it since the beginning and that is me :) Of course I was corrupted when I was 14 and decided Harry and Draco needed to start sexing each other ;)
Yeah and Draco
Oh god Snape, I was in tears from that chapter onwards, weird for my sister cos she reads slower than me, I was sitting there bawling and she was 50 pages behind.
And yes, that Dragon!Snape fic on HPFandom, I must go re-read that.

I was already in university, 17 I think, when my dad read the first one and then passed it on to me, but I recall that there were two or three out at the time.
My dad was so amused because I was dancing around the house singing "I was right" with Snape and the whole good/evil argument. And I can't sing.
Yep, the dragon!Snape story. I must go update that. *grin*

I was gonna do the fish one from the third movie but thought it was too random. That or something about rum.
Feb. 11th, 2008 09:18 pm (UTC)
What fish one?

The rum would have been too easy :p
Feb. 11th, 2008 11:52 pm (UTC)

At the Bretheren Court when he starts talking about the cuttle fish and everyone just looks confused.
Feb. 10th, 2008 11:50 pm (UTC)
10) Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Raef and Casey scene, I believe. ;) I love that movie.
"good thing these guys aren't lumberjacks"
"no shit, the only thing safe would be the trees" :)

I'm called Panthersprite by the way...I just don't have an account ...

Re: Holmes
I'm impressed. This is the one I thought no one was going to get. And it's showing my age a little too. :)

Awesome movies
1. is one of my favorites too Blazing Saddles. I can quote that movie from dawn til dusk.

9. I'm guessing this is Princess Bride. When Inigo and Fezzik are rhyming.

13. Is either Young Frankenstein or the Producers. I know Gene Wilder said it in a Mel Brooks movie

15. Is so totally Monty Python and the Holy Grail. I just went to see Spamalot on Friday.

Re: Awesome movies
Yep to all. I made the mistake of showing a former coworker the Princess Bride and he went around asking everyone that for a MONTH. And people say I'm weird.

Re: Awesome movies
It's either 6 or 8 and I don't remember which. I think it's 8

Re: Awesome movies
My bad, 13 isn't Mel Brooks. But there is a Young Frankenstein quote on the list.
Feb. 11th, 2008 03:52 am (UTC)
unless I miss my guess num 9 is from the Princess Bride.
Feb. 11th, 2008 11:56 pm (UTC)
yep. I was worried it was a little too obscure. But I suppose not.
Feb. 13th, 2008 01:37 am (UTC)
That is one of my favourite movies of all time and if a rhyme war breaks out in my house this line will inevitably be dragged out.
"no more rhymes now I mean it!"

Of course the most quoted lines are "Asss yooouuu wiiissshh" and "My Name is Dimingo Montoa, you killed my father, prepare to die."
Feb. 13th, 2008 03:36 am (UTC)
My folks don't like it nearly as much as Monty Python and the Holy Grail. But my kid brother and I love it.
My fav line is "What about the ROUS's"
"Rodents of Unusual Size, I don't think they exist." *wham*
Feb. 11th, 2008 08:31 am (UTC)
5. flushed away - la frog =)

12. no other then the greatest movie of all time! - miracle - jimmy craig *the famous don flack* and O.C.'s conversation...

Yeah that's gonna work =)

13. clue - the butler or mr. body near the end get, gets hit with the candle stick...
Feb. 11th, 2008 11:57 pm (UTC)
I so knew you were gonna say that. *grin*
Feb. 14th, 2008 08:38 am (UTC)
8)I ain't got no body, and nobody cares for me. Yakka tak ta a yakka tak ta ha!

This one is from "Young Frankenstein" said by Igor (Marty Feldman). His character starts singing in the lab when Inga and Victor walk by the various skulls with the note on how long they have been dead.
Feb. 15th, 2008 06:27 am (UTC)
How very true. I love that scene.
