new story and life

I've been doing a lot of thinking this weekend whilst I've been in bed sick. Well, the time I've been awake at any rate (this is the first time I've been so sleepy when I've had an allergic reaction to food) and come to a decision. I suppose its one that's been building for a while now, but I'm going to leave the forensic program. *sigh* As much as I want to do it, my mind just isn't wired towards science and I'm going to kick my kid brother when I see him at Christmas for saying that anyone can do it. He's weird.

I am staying in school, however, as long as I get accepted into the program I'm looking at. There's a M.F.A. Creative Writing program offered by the English department and the thesis would be a novel. I was joking with a friend today that I could just save the three years, give them the novel and ask for my degree. *grin* Seriously, it would be writing and teaching creative writing. I love teaching others, its just not something I have a chance to do a lot of in my life right now. Although one of my co-workers likes to bring her daughter to work and leave the kid outside in the restaurant part of the bowling alley while she's working and the daughter sometimes needs help with her homework. I've helped her out once, I know some other folks have too, but I've never seen the parents do it.

So I might be messaging people to ask if they'd be willing to read the first chapter of the novel, the submission piece I'm using for the program. I'm not sure who, if anyone, I want to have read it - well save one who has agreed to help me with my UK lingo - but I know that my online friends are by far the most familiar with my writing and style.

Now that the long rant is over - sheesh - I got bit by a short plot bunny during Miami tonight. It kind of continues Quandry from last season. The story isn't done at this point, but it will be posted before I head to bed. I don't have a title yet, so I guess just look on the most recent page. I haven't posted/updated in over a week, so it should be easy to find.

**Edit - The title is Zilch. That also completes my quest to write a story with a title of every letter of the alphebet.**

Thanks.
The bunnies say thanks too. They're getting restless. I guess I'm not writing enough.

I'll second that. If you have fun in teaching people then do it Tiff. It's your future and if you have the chance to do what you enjoy.. take the chance.

*hugs*

Holmes
Not everyone is cutout for science. I am completely moronic when it comes to chemistry. If I hadn't had a cheatsheet, I never would have passed my chemistry class in college.

I'm great at trivia tho, at least I think I am! ;)

Anyway go for it and hopefully it will help you along your life's journey.

Re: Holmes
I'm starting to realize that. :) Maybe that's my problem, no cheat sheet in exams. Hell, the teacher won't even allow laptops in class. I guess she had a problem with some kid looking at porn instead of listening to her lecture. *rolls eyes* There's always one...

sorry to hear that you were feeling sick, allergies suck! Yes if you can get into the creative writing program it's greatnes, getting in can sometimes be a problem *eye roll* Yeagh science was my second worst subjet in school, I think it's the whole creative or scientific thing *wait nevermind* I have a artist friend whoes a micro-biologist. *grin* You should do what makes you happy and I'm pretty sure writing makes you happy, and the whole novel already there is a pretty good bonus. I warn you though some of the creative writing assignmements may seem repedative and tedeaious but I think it's worth it. I ramble too much, it's a result of not being allowed to be on the computer for a week. *grin* I jumped hen she let me write a story, anyway, hope you get into the program, you probably will, man this is long, I'll probably come back and deleate it later. *gives bunnies carrots* gotta fly, character analysis to finish.

Yeah, they totally suck. But at least I know not to eat there any more. *Grin*

No deleting messages. :) I know how it feels to be turned loose after being offline for a while. You just want to type and type and type.

Anything to make me a better writer, I'll do. As long as its not stand on my head and yodel. How's that for a visual?

Don't mention that to your proffessor, they just might try it *gRIN* But when i'm doing the assignments I think, there's nothing you can do to me that my acting proffs having already done worse *snickker* Gotta fly.

Huge class = no time to talk with prof. Sometimes that's a good thing. :)
I like that attitude. Sounds very, very healthy.

Having passed Chemistry by the slimmest of margins, the skin of my teeth, sleeping with the Prof...*snerk* not really... I fully understand. I think a lot of us don't have the zillions of brain cells specifically earmarked for Chemistry. Ours are dedicated to other things. In your case it looks like writing and teaching. In my case I think they are missing entirely!

I hope you get to feeling better 'cos allergies just...suck. That pretty much sums it up. I hope you have chocolate, chocolate makes everything better!

lol, as my prof is female that's not an image I need to consider. :)
But I think I'll be right there with you on the slim margin - I'm failing lecture but acing lab. They'll be averaged together to a nice average "C" I think.

I'm at least up and moving. *grin* Which is more than I was a couple of days ago. This one hit me hard, for some reason. And I do, but I can't eat it. My tummy is still too upset. *cries* At least its cold enough it won't melt on me though.

I've got a completely science oriented mind, but the only math that makes sense to me is geometry. *headdesk* That really makes things complicated.

Just remember, "If you do what you love, you'll never work a day in your life."

I hate geometry. But most of that is from high school with a really bad teacher. We're talking put the page numbers on the board and told us to do our homework.

That's really good advice. I know I don't think of writing as work. :)

Only slightly. I've taken the idea of the dragon world from TDC and am applying it to original characters with different types of lore masters and a different world. I'll explain more as I get closer to sending it out.
